My 17 year old friend that i like is asking for nudes?

This guy i like just texted me asking me for nudes. Hes usually a really somber nice guy, which surprises me that he would do this, by the way hes texting it looks like hes been drinking. I really like him, and i want to send them to him, but im scared that he or i will get in trouble. Is it legal to send a pic to a 17 year old? (we both are 17). How will he or i get in trouble?
